What is psychotherapy?
It is a relationship - a professional relationship. It is intended to help clients' feel more connected - connected to themselves, to others, and to the world around them. Therapy focuses on the experience of relating between the client and the therapist and creates a practice environment for intimacy and positive attachment. When successful, psychotherapy expands our capacity for acceptance, appreciation, and trust.
Now who doesn't need more of that - acceptance, appreciation, and trust?
With the guidance of the relationship as a foundation for therapy, clients become more able to discern choices, discover new insights, and take action towards creating healthier, happier lives.
